How to change the primary media player?

So, how to change the primary media player status from quicktime to vlc for an example? Tried to find a solution, but couldn't find one. Thx for the help 🙂

You need to select a file of a certain type, ie .mov, and choose 'get info'. (or apple+I). Then choose the application to open it with, and choose 'change all' to open all files of that type with that program in the future.
