How to change- which software I should use to change an ID3 Tag version. My player is not able to play mp3 s with id3tag version 2.4. But with 2.3 It could play. How can I do it?

Add illustration photo, what I mean:

I will appreciate a tip to some great app like theTAGGER:

the-tagger-19.jpg

very simple software for use. But as I found out- the mp3 shouldn't have a "enable v2 id3 tag" when I "untick" this, for example in id3 editor for mac- it is all good. If that function will have theTAGGER I will be completely satisfied :)

So do you know the same app like theTAGGER, but with function to unstick "ENABLE v2 ID3TAG" just only enable V1.

Thanks so much...

Hi Buck1,

I don't know anything about TheTAGGER, but I do know about an app that will convert v2.4 tags to v2.3.

It's called Kid3 - ID3 Tagger and can be found here http://kid3.sourceforge.net/

Scroll down the page a little to the Download section, and click on the link labeled Mac OS X binaries kid3-2.1.0-Darwin.dmg

To install on your Mac, mount the downloaded .dmg and then drag the kid3 icon into the Applications folder.

You can convert the tags one at a time, or you can select all files in a folder and convert them all at once.

Select the files you want to convert, then click on Tools in the menu bar. One of the options will be Convert ID3v2.4 to ID3v2.3.

Hope this helps.
