I have some videos wmv that I must trnasform into a mac compatible file that could be read.
 
this should work

try visual hub 1.34.i have used that to change flv and others to mp4 etc and had no issues
 
Also, if you use Quicktime to watch other videos, download Flip4Mac. It is free, and when you open a .wmv file, it lets you play it with Quicktime (which is the software that came on your mac.)
 
On a side note, I would suggest downloading Perian, it will give you the ability to open just about any type of video file.
