How to Charge your ipod touch while traveling

Hello, i am going to Italy and am taking a very long plane ride and am relying on my ipod for entertainment. Obviously, the power will eventually run out and i am wondering if there are any decent items that can charge my ipod while traveling other than bringing a laptop on the plane. Thank You!

Hi there,

I'd suggest a battery pack that you can charge up before you go. Plenty to choose from. I assume that one designed for an iPhone will work for an iPod Touch, but obviously, do your homework!

Its a loooooooong time since I was on a plane, but I'm a regular train passenger here in the UK and USB charging points are almost always available on trains. I wonder whether it's worth checking with the airline to see if anything similar is available?

A USB charging point will, very possibly, be in the armrest of your seat on the plane. I've seen them increasingly in economy over the past few years.

However, perhaps check with the airline.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the airline to know, or spend the frustrating number of cycles needed to track down the information. I'd also build in some contingency even *if* you determine they supposedly have charging ports - especially if you can do this at a moderately low cost and wind up with something that's handy to have outside of just this one trip 🙂

Given an iPod Touch (at least the current gen) is 1043mAh, account for charge efficiency, etc., that's about 7-8 full recharges from that tiny little device 🙂
