Just switched to mac mini m1 from windows and was wondering how i can check the swap file ram usage that people talk about damaging the SSD drive? Is there a simple way to check this?
Check the m-series subforum here at macrumors.

For any system, you don’t want to have frequently/constantly (very) high swap value or memory pressure. Occasionally is fine.
As far as I’m aware, macOS's integrated drive tools report overall/basic S.M.A.R.T. status. There are CLI programs to download and others to buy but because you’re simply curious, I’d suggest DriveDx as Binary Fruit offers a few day trial.

Once installed, you’ll launch it, select your Mac’s internal drive, and look for the “Lifetime Writes” detail/value.
For my SSD with nearly three years of power-on time, it has had ~10 TB written. So, plenty of life left.
