what are the factors that have to be considered when choosing the perfect case

Your typical daily environment (Work site? Hard floors? Carpeted floors?)

Are you a butterfingers at the best of times?

Do you want drop protection (thicker case) or scratch protection (thinner case) only?

How much of the phone you want covered/exposed?

How willing are you to sacrifice the natural slim form factor for extra bulk?

Wireless charging needs.

Lay on the table design?

Grip.

Pocket-friendly material.

Looks.

Price.

Button response.

Do you want the buttons covered, or to use the actual phone buttons?

Hi... did you mean only thicker case is guaranteed for drop?
could there be any thinner case that is drop protected?

okay... my situation is -- I don't work with my iPhone, I don't carry my iPhone when I work. I use it only when I am off from work.

I highly prefer thinner case to a thicker case, in fact, I don't like using a case but iPhone is an exception because I really want to care it.

I'll mostly put the phone in my handbag or backpack.

No wireless charging is needed, and will never be...

No special color or design is preferred but I hope it is a clear and thin case like I don't notice a case.

Price... don't want to spend too much...

Between drop protection and scratch protection, I'll prefer drop protection, between thinner case and thicker case I'll prefer thicker case

I will not even apply screen protector

Generally yeah - the thicker the case, the better drop protection.

Thinner cases are mainly for scratch protection, but if your hands are big enough, having a thin case can provide a better grip thereby reducing the chance of you dropping your phone, so some people find this balance & are happy with it.

Ok this left my a bit confused, but have a look here. AliExpress have so many options & are so cheap, that you don’t need to risk paying a huge amount…
(I put iPhone 13 as I’m not sure which model you meant)…
