How to choose correct HD for an Imac

So yesterday my HD died on my Intel Imac. How to choose correct HD? What type of HD do I have to get? Is there specific specifications I have to look out for?

You need to get a 3.5" S-ATA HDD.

It's a standard desktop 3.5" SATA drive. Any size will be fine, just make sure it's 7200rpm.
