How to connect HP DeskJet 500 to Power Mac G5

have HP DeskJet 500 with 25 pin and Power Mac G5 with USB ports - will an adapter allow me to connect the two?

There are drivers for Tiger, Leopard and Snow so it should work.

I setup a printer simular to this one for my dad. It was a 870cxi that connects with serial. I don't remember exactly how i did it but i used CUPS drivers and some other drivers. The drivers enable basic printing and are not perfect but they are functional.
