How to convert .mrec file

Hi all! Just got a new mac and trying to do some video, but the files on my computer are all labeled as .mrecs. Does anyone know what to do with this? As it is it won't let me share the video with anyone, or even screen cap to show people, and I don't know how to convert it into something like avi.

Any suggestions? I've never even heard of an .mrec before!

Where do those .mrec files come from? Software or some kind of hardware like a camera or webcam or whatever?

What software do you wanna use to "do some video"?
