What about iDVD?

i have not tried that yet, but i'll give it a shot when I get back to school tomorrow. You think that will convert quicktime to DVD format so I can burn it on DVD-R?

thanks again!

iDVD will do it, I think '06 is the only version that will just let you drag in the movie to the DVD map. '05 and before, you had to import it into iMovie, then create an iDVD project from that.

You can also use Toast, VisualHub or FFMPEG. Though FFMPEGs interface takes a lot of getting used to.
