I made a mistake by setting up a simplified account and I can't get it deleted in the Accounts section of the Sys Prefs. Any ideas?

I'm guessing that you're not logged on into that account, as you can't delete the account that you're logged on to. You've tried unlocking the padlock in the bottom left-hand corner and highlighting the user name and pressing the minus button and nothing happens? I don't know of another way than this, but I'm sure someone here will know a terminal way of doing it.

It's weird since I can delete another account but the simplified one is not even selectable. The pad lock is unlocked on the lower left also. This all when I'm not logged on to the account I'm trying to delete or edit. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like the account you are logged into is not an administrator account. Only administrators have permissions to delete accounts.

Maybe restart and try again.

Do you think the other account could still be running even though it's not the one you're using?

That might be it but I'm away from my ibook. Try tomorrow. Thanks!
