Hi,

I think similar questions to this have been covered before, but what I want is how I can delete addresses I have previously used.

For example:

I send an email to 'example@example.com' and after, when I type the letter 'e' into the 'To' section of a new email; 'example@example.com' and all the other addresses starting with the letter 'e' that I have used before pop up in a list below (Like it would on the history of a google search).

I want to delete this and all the other ones (because I have obviously never emailed 'example@example.com')

I do not have these addresses in my contacts and some of the addresses were sent from email accounts I have now deleted. And therefore I can't delete the email I sent, but the address still pops up in the list of a new email even although it is in a different account.

I have tried to delete the address when it pops up but I am not sure how.

Could you please tell me how to overcome this? Do I have to completely restore the phone?

If it helps I have an iPhone 4 running on iOS 5

Thanks,

Sean

I would suppose there is a cache to clear somewhere I'm missing. Have had iPhones for years but didn't really notice this til my 4, when replying to and old ex and it kept her email address and the wife saw it. Harmless email, but caused some ruckus.

The only way to get rid of those is to restore as new. It's been an issue for a long time.
