Idk why but deleting messages is very difficult. I use Macbook pro and iPhone but if I want to delete messages, then I have delete from both. Even I delete it, if I know the number, it still recover previous messages. Are there any way to delete all unnecessary messages?

Why is it difficult? On your iPhone just double tap each message you want to delete and select the trash below and confirm. You can delete all messages from a single sender by deleting the sender. It's even easier on your Mac. Just right click on the messages you want to delete and select delete from the menu or you can go to the sender and delete all from there. And yes, you need to delete them from both your iPhone and Mac if they're synced.

How are the messages kept if you put in a number you chatted with before?

It just reveals all previous messages if I know the number.

Put the number where? In the messages app as in when you are starting a new message?

That's odd. It certainly can bring up the number as a suggestion of the recent exchanges you've had, but if you deleted the conversation messages wouldn't be brought up in that context as it would just create a new conversation with nothing in it except the new message you are composing.

Will iCloud might cause this issue? When I back up in iTunes, all old messages came back from the grave.
