Podcasts are using almost 8GB on my watch - I guess it was set to auto sync or something like that

I want to delete them all off the watch, but can't figure out how, all I see is that each episode is removed after playing it

I've changed the setting to not sync podcast episodes to the watch but I guess it doesn't affect episodes that have already been synced - that is it doesn't remove them

Any help? Thanks

can you delete the podcast app off the watch? i'm not wearing S3 right now so i can't check, but i noticed exactly what you noticed the other day and i was able to get rid of all the episodes somehow. if i remember right i must have deleted the app.

You need to delete all through via iPhone and later sync what you expect to listen over there

I actually just did this. All I did was delete them off of my phone in the podcasts app and they were not on the watch afterward.

So I probably subscribe to about 180 podcasts. However, I don't use the Podcasts app - I use Castro. But, what I do is that when I subscribe to a new podcast within Castro, I also subscribe in the Podcasts app, Overcast and Pocket Casts. That way, if I ever decide to switch to using a different podcast app, all my podcasts will be there. I know that Overcast and Pocket Casts have good import features; however, Apple Podcasts does not. That is why I just go ahead and subscribe within all the apps since I'm already doing it within Apple Podcasts.

However, since I don't actually listen to any podcasts within the Podcasts app, *all* my episodes are considered new (I looked at my Mac last night, within iTunes, and then equates to about 16,000 episodes).

Thus, marking them played or deleting them within the Podcasts app in order to get them deleted off my Watch is not an option.

I was able to find a way to get them deleted, however. This is what I think I did - within the Apple Watch app, I went to Podcasts and checked Custom (instead of Listen Now) and made sure that all the toggles for every single podcast I subscribe to were set to Off. Then, I just rebooted the Watch and, viola, I regained something like 8GB of space.

yes that is what i did the other day as well, sorry for not following up. of course you can't delete apple builtin apps. i was wearing my series 0 when i read your post and it does not support podcasts, so i couldn't check.

was pretty sure wendelhp was wrong, thanks for confirming.
