Recent convert to iPhone from Android. I had to restore my phone, and all went fine except one stupid icon. It was no name beneath it. It doesn't respond to long-press: tap "-". I assume it's an app that was installed before the restore that didn't get reinstalled during the recovery. I have no idea each app it was. I just want to get rid of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Try restarting your phone. Those are 'invisible' apps that generally don't show, but sometimes happen to appear.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried that... several times. It's a persistent little bugger!

Look for it in Settings. Maybe can delete from there? But it’s probably a screw up and just a ghost app icon. I’ve never experienced one of those before.

It's not in settings. I guess it's just a ghost icon left over from the restore. Just wish I knew how to get rid of it.

Restore as new will get rid of it but man it’s a hassle to set up an iPhone all over again not using a backup.

Tried Apple Support. They were quick to respond and tried to be helpful... even escalating my case with no wait. They finally had me plug my iPhone into my Mac. I got an error message saying my phone was corrupt and needed to reset the whole thing. I couldn't use the backup because that's what caused the problem in the first place.

So, I spent most of last night and this morning installing everything from scratch - one app at a time. Biggest problem? I forgot all about my Google Authenticator and all its 2FA accounts. One by one I'm logging in and turning off 2FA/app. There are a few where I don't know how to get around it.
