I created a workout category called "Other Yoga" on my Apple watch. It didn't work so well so I'd like to delete it but can't figure out how. Can anyone enlighten me?

Fyi - I know how to delete workouts but not workout categories created by clicking "Other" and creating a new category.

I contacted Apple about this and the senior advisor wasn't able to figure it out so they are forwarding this case to the engineers. Let me know if anyone here figures it out!

How do you create a new Workout category?

I clicked "Other" in the list and saved the workout as Yoga - all on the Watch. That workout didn't work so well but now it's permanantly stuck in the list.

Still not understanding. In the Workout App on the :apple:Watch you clicked on Other. This takes you to a choice of 3 settings (Active Calories, Time or Open). How did you get it to edit the name 'Other' to 'Other Yoga'? Also if you did it once why can't you do it again and change it it back to just 'Other'?

I've included a screenshot from the Apple Watch. Here are the steps on the Watch:

1. Open Workout App
2. Choose 'Other'
3. Click 'Start' to start an 'Other' workout
4. At the end of the workout you have the option to save the workout
5. It creates a new Category, in my case "Other Yoga" as shown in the screen shot below

'Other Yoga' doesn't replace the Other category, but just adds a new one to the list. I am unable to delete 'Other Yoga'. I don't want to make any new categories because if there is no way to delete them, they clutter up your workout list. Apple has been unable to solve this problem so they are forwarding my case to engineers.

I'm wondering if anyone here has been able to delete a workout category they created in the watch.

OK, this is new in wOS 3 and I have never scrolled past Save. Was going to test but don't want an extra at this time. So you now have Other and Other Yoga (2 Other's) in the Workout list?

Yes, now I have 'Other' and 'Other Yoga' which is why I'm not experimenting with Other exercises unless I have a way to delete them.

Thanks, now I understand. I will create a new Workout category tomorrow (I want to have Stair Stepper and create Stair Climber from it) and then see if I can figure a way to delete it. I will post back to this thread one way or the other.

A little news but not conclusive. I went to the gym and did a short Stair Climber before weights. I went to save and no option to name. This is only available on the Other Workout. This makes sense since all the Workouts except for Other are based on algorithms specific for that activity.

I then weight trained and scrolled through the list and named Strength Training. This is now in my Workout list as well as Other. I doesn't show up in the Watch app and if you edit the metrics shown for Other it also changes them for Strength Training. So they are interlinked. I can't find a way to remove it.

I will BR it even though it is not a true 10.1 or 3.1 bug. Hopefully it will get picked up. My idea would be to offer an edit in Watch: Workout: Workout View. You could rearrange, remove and delete created Other Workouts.

SIDE NOTE: If you are doing Yoga and want to use Workout then Other (and Other Yoga) is the Workout you should use.

UPDATE (and figured it out): I did a core workout and saved it as Core Training. This replaced Strength Training so there can only be one 'other' Other Workout in the list at a time. So you don't have to worry about ending up with a lot of past used Workout names in the Workout app and a LONG Workout list. it's not an issue or bug so not filing a BR. If you saved Yoga by mistake just save with the applicable Other Workout name and Yoga will be replaced.

Still may file a ER asking for Edit in the Watch: Workout: Workout View to allow rearrange and remove/replace.

UPDATE to the UPDATE : Did weight training this morning and saved as Strength Training. Now I have both Strength Training and Core Training. So now I have 13 Workouts instead of 12.
