Hoping one of you guys can help. Just bought my wife a watch 2, and she is getting blown up with notifications from Facebook messenger and Snapchat. On the watch app on her iPhone, she has disabled mirror from iPhone but continues to get notifications.

Her goal is to keep getting notifications on her phone, but not on her watch for these two apps. Any pointers?

In Watch app on the iPhone, you can do that. If that doesn't work. You should consider remove the facebook watch app as well. Long press on the icon of the app in your watch or remove it from Watch app in your iPhone.

Thanks for the reply. So she already deleted the Facebook messenger app, and snapchat doesn't have a watch app. Nevertheless, she is still getting notifications. We have already disabled both apps in the iwatch app on the iPhone. This seems like a glitch or something.

Can you be more specific on facebook app? You say you both disabling the mirror in Watch app and removing the app in your watch, but you still get the notifications on your watch?

Yeah exactly. Facebook has a messaging app that my wife has installed on her phone to chat with. She had it on her watch but the notifications were super annoying so she deleted the app, but continues to get all notifications from her phone onto the watch. And snapchat apparently doesn't have a watch app but she's getting notifications for this as well.

Can you double check it?

Here is how notifications running in watchOS. There are two kinds of notifications. Local notification and mirrored notification.

Local notification is the notification that the apps in the watch call. If you remove the app in your watch, this will stop.

Mirrored notification is the notification your watch gets from your iPhone. If you disable it in the Watch app on your iPhone, it will stop.

There should be no other notifications on facebook.

Besides, you said facebook is a message app. It is not. Facebook is an app you can see your friends' photos and journals. The message app is isolated as "facebook messenger", please check if this is the reason.
