Just gone from El Capitan to High Sierra, and apart from hating the slow Mission Control animation, the only other big issue I have is the rubberbanding in Finder.

Sadly the previous Terminal input to remove it that worked on previous versions no longer does, is there any other way?

You could try downloading the free "Mountain Tweaks" utility:

Yes, it's old and outdated, but some of the "tweaks" still work on newer versions of the OS.
That's how I disabled "the rubber band effect" on my Macs...

Thanks for the reply. I suspect that probably just uses the Terminal command from El Capitan that no longer works. Seems Apple has changed the rubber band effect somehow for Sierra

The bouncy effect doesn't happen on my MacBook unless I'm using the touchpad. I don't have an Apple mouse or any kind of "touch scroll" mouse...just the scroll wheel kind...and using those on my Macs with Sierra the bounce does NOT occur.

The Sierra version of Onyx has a checkbox to "Show the rubber-band scrolling" but it doesn't work for me. I assume it just runs the same old Terminal command.

I guess it's kind of a clue that the bouncing only happens for touch device scrolling...if that is indeed the case.

Not sure this will work on the rubber band effect but you might give it a try:

Open System Preferences and select Accessibility, Display. Check the Reduce Motion box and Reduce Transparency box as well.

Those two settings will remove some of the "eye candy" built into Mac OS. Things may not look as slick or pretty, but it definitely speeds things up, especially with older machines lacking SSD drives.
