The Moon
I've got new sim card (prepaid) and i would like to disable the voice mail button, i did this couple years ago on a different sim with a GSM code, and since then the button is deactivate on that sim card. I dont remember which code i used for that and i cant find it again, so far whatever i tried not working... Hopefully someone here can help with this issue, coz every time im touching this button by accident its draining my credit.

PS, im trying to do so on iPhone 4s, iOS 8.2

Contact your phone provider to disable voice mail. Easily reversible. I've done it.

And you want to know if that voicemail button can be disabled somehow?
I know you can disable it with a standard GSM code (like in the old Nokia days), i did it couple years ago with the same phone\iOS, but different sim card (as i wrote before). The thing is, i dont remember how i did it before, and i cant find how to do this now.

Do not think you can get rid of the button but I think AT&T can turn off your voice mail if you wish to do so.
Im not on AT&T (its a pic from the net), and im not trying to get rid of it, just disable it. I contact the provider, they told me the voicemail already disable, but somehow its still working.

A code of some sort literally removed or somehow made inactive that voicemail button in the toolbar at the bottom of the Phone app?

Yes, with the GSM code the voicemail button in the Phone app become inactive (maybe with JB you can remove it as well...). Unfortunately i cant remember the code, and whatever in trying not working...

Looks like not many ppl here know about this code options... :(

I see...did you try to talk to a senior tech person at your carrier to maybe find out if they know how?
