    Hi Guys

I have had a major problem with the voicemail button in the iphone, almost all of the time i press it by mistake and it calls the voicemail number 123 here in UAE. but what drives me crazy is that it deducts 30 fils from my credit for nothing (because i'm not using this service).
and it's enabled by default on the iphone, so the only solution is to change the number sincce you cannot modify the phone.app in the iphone, and because its so simple normal users can do it.

now i have been googling for almost a day and found a solution for this rediciluous problem, i have copied the modified carrier.plist from my iphone so won't change anything in the file, you just need to replace it with your current carrier.plist .

Remember this only applies to Etisalat subscribers, and if you want to modify it for your Service Provider just contact me.

    Now how we do it:

1- download the Attached carrier.plist file or you can download it from here.

2- you need to use iphone browser which you can download fom here so you can replace the carrier.plist file in your iphone.

3- After you download iphonebrowser run it and go to this location: "[root]/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Etisalat_ae.bundle".

4- now on the left side you will see the following screen

5- just drag and drop the carrier.plist from your pc to the window and it should be copied.

6- after copying the file to your iphone (you don't even need to restart your iphone) click on the voicemail button and it should call 121 to check your credit balance.

That's it, hope you guys find this thread usefull and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Cheers :)
