How To Do A Single Or 7 Pass Erase On HD When You Dont Have Original Disc ? Help

Look at it this way, what happens next? If you don't have the install disc, how are you going to get an OS back onto the machine after deleting the HD?
 
All Im tryna do is a single or 7 pass erase. Im not reinstalling the OS back on. If someone can explain how I can accomplish this for free with a software I can download that would be great.
 
download something like ubuntu or whatever linux distro you are comfortable with. I like Puppy because it is so small. Boot into that and launch GParted. GParted is pretty self explanatory to use.
 
Is there one software i can download and it does the job for me rather than installing another os then doing the job ?
 
A liveCD does not install another OS. You boot into it on the disk. If you prefer DBAN just download the ISO and burn it to a disk. It does not matter what OS you are on.
