iPod touch How to downgrade from 4.0gm to 3.1.3?

Some of my apps are not running correctly so I'd like to downgrade but I don't know how. I'm running a generation 3 ipod touch.

Do a restore the normal way...

Use this guide. A normal restore will not work.

I downgraded my 3g touch because I could not connect to either of my wireless routers with 4.0.
