Yeah that happened for the first time today, I was browsing the home screen and the call came in at the top minimised. I think you can move it around as well although I didn't try.

I think by default though if the phone is locked it's still full screen.

oooh, keep talking!! :)

i hope you can move it around, but even if it's married to the top, it'll still be so so much better than when it takes over the entire display!

it makes sense with the locked screen. i mean you're not losing anything, and it can take advantage of those nice full screen pics, that sometimes work. :)

I've updated my iPad Pro 2020 to iPadOS os 14 and my Barclays app doesn't let me log in saying it's jailbroken device ;) Thats why I'm not updating my iPhone just yet.

Very stable iOS this year. I might not update until GM if that’s possible?

Assuming you're asking if you can stick with the first beta of iOS 14 until GM…

In the past, iOS betas have had expiry dates built in to them. We haven't always known what those dates are, but they've usually been pretty generous. If the first beta was released June 14th, for instance, the drop-dead date might be July 31st or August 31th. But if you pass that date, at times in the past you haven't been able to use the phone at all or upgrade to the next beta easily. And until this happens, we're not going to know how the iOS 14 beta handles it.

For that reason, once you're on the beta train I'd recommend installing updated betas shortly after they become available. Give it a few days to find out if there's screaming going on, and if the things they're screaming about are going to impact you.

If you're not prepared to accept some risk and update, you should probably stick with iOS 13.

I went back down. Not really anything in there i miss too much. The widgets arent interactive. Not anything mind blowing in to me in Apple music. I have everything organized in my own folders. So i don't need the App library screen.

The only thing i found useful to me. Was the call bar. So i can do what i want. And receive a call. And the PIP. But i can wait on those.
Home screen widgets are also currently limited to Apple's included apps, but I'm sure all kinds of apps will have new and interesting widgets available by the time the public release comes in September, making it a much more useful feature.

This is one of the many reasons why you’re not supposed to load the beta versions of the OS on your main/carry devices: all those developers of those apps you depend on? They also just got the beta, and are now starting to work on ensuring that their apps run properly when the new OS is launched in September.

I don’t think you can move it around, but if you swipe down from the top it goes full screen and gives you your default options. (Reply with message, etc.)

yea, played around with it a bit, it's quite nice. what's up with all the extra space at the bottom(above the dock) though, am i on crack, or did there used to be less?

I noticed that as well. It’s weird. It almost feels like there used to be an entire extra row of apps there, but that can’t be.

I saw that in some of their demos. Felt a bit like they figure their ... ugh, forget the name, the thing so that you can hide some app pages and have them automatically summarize into groups ... it’s like they figure that means the first screens don’t need to be so crowded with apps. Was hoping to see a demonstration one way or the other eventually.

yea i tried that hoping that it would bring the app icons down a bit, and figured i'd figure out a way to organise my apps differently, and hid all of the pages but one, but that did not change anything! of course this is the beta, we'll see...

Nice! Forget about downgrading, still no problems. I'm not updating until this thing is released.

Not done that before so I hope it's allowed.

yea, i've incredibly happy so far. i've had to restart a couple of times, as some of the widgets hick up, but it's a freakin' beta!

i'm really missing the old phone favorites widget.. i'm surprised they didn't have something like that in this beta...

The "old" widgets aren't there anymore?

not that i can see. this is the old "system" widgets, app-specific ones are still there, at least for the most part. but i kind of miss the contacts widget, as i only call a handful of people and they were all there)

On both iphone and ipad, the keychain is not working at all. Talked to Apple and they said to downgrade back to previous version.

I did like the scribble on the ipad and was getting into the iphone's os. I'm downgrading now and will wait for a public release.

Right now, ipad is just flashing the Apple logo, I'm assuming it's getting all it's ducks in a row. My iphone upgrade took 36 hours. Had to wait for battery to die before it would respond.
