How to download older version of imovie (10.1.9)

Hello,

I'm trying to re-download iMovie after having deleted it a year ago. I'm on 10.13.5 (and not going higher) and the app store UNhelpfully only shows me a version of imovie that I can't download (how nice and well designed!).

Apple's search tool on their website is similarly useless.

Can anyone tell me where I can download 10.1.9?

How about installing macOS 10.13.5 on an external drive. I believe that would put iMovie onto that drive. Then copy the app onto your normal boot drive. Would that work?

Interesting. I could even rummage around the installers and see if I can unpackage the imovie app... Thanks.
