how to download to a hard drive enclosure

I have an enclosure (hooked up my old Del hard drive to) and am hoping to backup some Word files and ITunes playlist and can't do either one. When trying to dray file over it says it "cannot be moved because "Untitled" cannot be modified". What do I do?

Sounds like it's formatted NTFS, which Mac OS X can't write to.

that is the Mac OS release number and nothing to do with the external drive
