It's a similar look, yes, which is actually nice. It's almost retro, but modern. Also, the glossy aluminum... those phones weren't. They were plastic. The iPhone 7 in Jet Black feels cool to the touch like aluminum, but also has that shine... which actually adds grip. The Matte "Black" one is much more slippery. I just think the Jet Black one looks incredibly classy and stealthy as it's such a deep black. Looks really good. And I haven't had any issues with scratches yet.
Now, a lot of people will say "oh get the regular black one it's better and scratches less". This is what people say who were too slow to get the Jet Black color lol. Everyone who I know that has seen Jet Black in person has said they absolutely love it, and it's the color they'd get. To each his own. I recommend that people look more into the Jet Black though. Yeah, it's rare, but it's rare for a reason.
