Hello All,

I have "Recovered Files" in my Trash which are proving difficult to remove.

The recovered files turned up in my trash after my mac crashed during an Erase Free Space process. Then the files it was creating (apparantly it writes over all free space, creating a new file, before deleting it) is called EFTFile1.sparseimage and anther called EFTFile2. One is woth 166Gb and the other is 55GB.

I then click the "Empty Securely" button. It starts to empty (i have done many times) but nothing happens. A window opens with the usual emptying trash, but it stays there for a very long time. about 10 hours it took last time before i decided to relaunch finder.

HOw long should i expect this to take!? to erase about 200GB of data split into 2 files?!

I'm scared i will never get my harddrive space back.

Sam

If you want to securely remove, then it WILL take 10 hours. The quickest way (and if you're not a security freak :p ) is just to right click trash and select 'empty trash'
