selling my mbp to my friend I want to delete all programs/apps/passwords/history on the computer. Basically clean slate.

How do I do that? Running Mountain Lion OS.

    Thank you!

When booting up, hold option and go to the recovery partition. From there, launch disk utility, and erase your main drive partition. Make sure you choose OS X journaled (NOT case sensitive). Then exit out of disk utility and choose to reinstall OS X.
