how to export sms to my pc?

hi all,
i m lookiing for a way to export all my text messeges to my pc (windows 7) in a readable mode.
i m not talking about the itunes backup but a file that i can read from my pc, regardless of apple products.
something like an excel spreadsheet that contains all messeges.
can anyone help?

I believe many of them, such as iexplore, perform a read out of a backup file.

AFAIK there is no official "Apple" method, just third party workarounds/extractors.
