Hi,
does anyone know how to extract contacts from the iphone as a text (.txt) file? It would be good to have it as a backup just in case the phone dies or if I get another device that is not an iphone which I can easily import into the new phone.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a mac? Your contacts are in your address book, an app you can backup and export from.

Yup, it's a mac. When I open up address book, it only shows 1 card. So definitely the other contacts are not inside. Or do I have to plug in my iphone to see it?

Plug in your iPhone and in iTunes under your iPhone, make sure sync contacts is selected. Sync your phone and the contact will copy to your address book on your mac.
