I've been there. I think from the time I was 14 'til 19 or 20 I was rather depressed, most of the time I did not even notice it. I ended up going through some really tough times and some friends and family pass away and I think that was what helped me snap out of it. I realized that these things that made me feel bad were things that I had no control over what so ever. I started to focus on the things that I enjoyed that I did have control over. For me it was music, I started writing a lot of music and that really helped. I stayed away for the prescription drugs, they do more harm then good. I also watched myself around booze and other drugs. I did not want to get trapped into that mess. Only drinking when I was feeling good, and not doing it to feel good.

It real can be hard to take others advice as what works for some does not work for everyone. Just remember though that many many people are going through the same thing, having a close personal friend you can talk with when feeling down is always the best thing.

Hope you can find something that helps you, and if nothing else know that you have a Mac:)

you sure you have depression or you just feeling down?
depression, contrary to many people's idea isnt that you are always sad, real depression implies you haven't deep emotions at all, nor felicity nor sadness
if is a real problem you should see a psychiatrist, therapy+antidepressants are very effective these days, i say it by own experience

I'm only 17 and I've had depression for years...It doesn't really bother me much anymore but for now it comes and goes every once in a while. I listen to music and workout to try and distract myself. Sometimes I'll just sleep it out. How do you cope with those nights/days when you just feel down and unhappy?

We have a lot in common. I'm 17 and have battled depression since I was 12. When I have no other options, I listen to music. I find that the best cure for feeling down is to just go out and do something with friends. Even if I really don't feel like doing anything, once I get out, I feel a lot better, because I don't want to act depressed in front of my friends. If you have a few really close friends, talk to them about it. Sometimes they can help you with problems like this.
Hope you feel better :)

If you are spiritual take a read at the bible....the new age bible usually give you a scripture for different things in life you might be going through.

I like the suggestion of cleaning up or going through your old paperwork....a lot of good memories might hit you whiles you are there.

Music/friends and swimming in a pool also help a lot.

Bless
