I have ran a google search which gives me all kinds of information that does not help. Anyone know how to locate downloaded podcasts so I can export the files to my thumb drive? It used to be really easy to do this with iTunes but it appears apple has made this so much harder than it used to be.

Also I had saved/downloaded podcasts from the 2010 or 2011 years and they have vanished so I wish I had saved them to a thumb drive then.

I only use them on my iphone …look under ‘Library’ and if theres a ‘down arrow’ those are the downloaded files. Also, I would suggest you download the relevant OS ’book’ from the bookstore so you know where to look for application issues. Hope this helps.

It did not. I am looking to manually access the file in the finder and copy to a thumb drive.

For a number of years now, Podcasts stores the episodes in:
Code:
$HOME/Library/Group Containers/243LU875E5.groups.com.apple.podcasts/Library/Cache

Will be a unique ID with .mp3 extension. That's problem one: no human readable name on it.

Problem two, Podcasts has always been buggy and at the mercy of how podcasters manage their feeds, so if a podcast is no longer on disk and no longer downloadable, out of luck. I've seen in the past where episodes that were downloaded disappear down the road.

Thank you. It was so much easier in the iTunes days to find them. Do you know why my podcasts from the iTunes days got deleted? I had many that are no longer on the server of podcast company.
