Hi there new member here, I have searched how to check if I have a sam or lg screen for my haswell macpro? 😕

I have searched and tried this command in my terminal window and nothing happens, no code comes up, thanks!

ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Go to Display Preferences, Click on Color .. then on Color LCD profile, click Open Profile. Scroll to the bottom.

From what I understand, Samsung is based on Manufacturer ? For my 15" 2.6/16/1TB/750M dGPU: it's a Samsung: manufacturer = 610 .. model = A022

For my 15" 2.3/16/1TB/750M dGPU, manufacturer = 610, model = A019

i heard all the 13 inch haswells are lg panels😕

There's a possibility that A018 panels (if you go to ColorSync and pull up the manufacturer info) are Samsung, but we need more people taking photos of their subpixels to know for sure.

mine says

manufacturer 00000610
model 0000A018
manufacture date ccd71000

thanks again for everyones help

I just ordered some extension tubes for my DSLR. Supposedly they're coming tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to get decent shots of the subpixels of my A018 screen. 😎

So did you did your tests? Is the A018 confirmed to be a Samsung?
