Anyone know if there is a way to know who airpods I found? In my office at work I found a pair of air pods. Thought they were mine. It goes they are not mine when I open them but if I want to connect. Anyway to find out who owns them?

I work at a school so it can literally be 100s of people. I don’t want to be like hey students free AirPods to the first person who comes to my office.

I asked the people who work for me they said it is not theirs.

Other then waiting for someone to come up to me and ask if they left something in my office. Any other options?

Contact Apple. They should be able to help. I know you can use the "find my" services with Air Pods so they might be able to locate the owner based on serial number or other infromation on the earphones.

Look at the Bluetooth name after you connect them to your phone. It should still have whatever they were named originally which is the phone name of the user. My younger daughters still say my name in the settings on her phone since we have not bothered to update it.

I just remember how angry I was when I lost them and I get the error that I can only know their last location if it’s connected to my Apple ID!!!

It’s like wtf Apple!

Credit to you for wanting to return them.

Hopefully the owner has ‘find my Airpods‘ & can locate them the next time they’re around. Keep them in your draw & see if you get asked by someone about them.
