How to find photos on external HD from Apple TV

Hi

Can anyone advise how do i find my photos that are on my external hard drive through my Apple TV.
I am just loading nearly 1TB of photos onto the external hard drive.

I have gone into iTunes/file/share photos and got the directory to look at my external hard drive, but the Apple TV shows there is no content in my library.

I would really appreciate advice as just bought the Apple TV today (please explain in very simple terms as not great with the tech details)

The external drive has to be connected to a computer running itunes and homesharing turned on. Make sure that hdd is what iPhoto is using to store pics.

Hi

I have opened iTunes and home sharing is turned on. I have ticked share photos with the external hard drive.

I have also copied the iPhoto onto EHH.

When looking on TV, it still says it cannot find anything.

What am i doing wrong?, i am spending hours trying to figure this out

All advice very welcome
