Sorry for the dumb question but this is not as obvious as I would have expected....

I am currently on the ios 16 public beta. In trying to figure out whether I had to delete the beta profile, I decided to look at it. And found it was no longer there. Under SETTINGS > GENERAL, there is no PROFILE entry. Was it automatically deleted by the current public beta? In that case I assume that my current public beta either IS the production version of 16 or will be replaced by it when it releases, right?

Also, I have seen some oblique references to the fact that the public beta program has changed and will not be as easily available?

Ah, so it is. When did it move? Not the most intuitive place for it ;) Plus, every reference I found on the net showed it under SETTINGS > GENERAL. I also found that searching SETTINGS for "profile" did not turn it up either.

So..... if I leave it installed, will I get future ios betas for ios 16 or is it now dead and needs to be removed?

Leave it and you will continue to get IOS 16 Betas. I usually delete it after the official release, spend time getting used to the new system and then add back it when I’m comfortable with it.

Thanks, that is what I thought. So an ios 16 beta profile is good for ALL ios 16 betas, before or after the initial production release. Makes sense.
