How to fix auto correct?

For some reason auto correct on the iPhone 6 is terrible. Are there tips on fixing specific words? For instance most times I type and it comes out abd. Somewhere it hit "corrected" to "Abd" by mistake. Is there a dictionary I can correct words? Or just reset AC altogether?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary
