How to get 1080P onto the Ipad?

Has anyone had any luck with getting 1080p onto the iPad? My background is in TV production so I have many uncompressed 1080p commercials on my mac. I have tried compressing them every way I can think of but none of them will sync. When I do use itunes to convert a 1080 spot, it converts it to 720 which will let me put it on the iPad. Am I missing something?

I figured it out. If you shoot some 1080P with your regular camera, you have to:


1. Open it with quicktime
2. Save as, select 1080p
3. Import into Itunes
4. Sync to iPad
