Here goes the story...I spilled some beer on my wife Air and **** it up quite a bit: some letters didn't work anymore, the whole computer was way slower, etc. So I was thinking it will cost a leg to repair this... until I thought about our home insurance. So I called them being sure they would not insure that... well, SURPRISE! Not only that was insured but instead of paying a $500 residual as per my contract they asked only 200$ because "I'm retired". So I exchanged my half working mid 2102 Air for a brand new 2016 Air... for $200$!
Conclusion: always check your home insurance...

I would personally never make a claim for such a small incident on my homeowners. Claims are never good and can result in increased premiums. Just my two cents.

But congrats on getting it replaced regardless!

Your premium will sky rocket next year or your insurance company won't renew!

Like others have said you will pay for it through increased premiums in the future. If that doesn't happen then consider yourself lucky.
