How to get an avatar?

i think you need 250 posts for an avatar.

How do I set my avatar?
Avatars are small images that display alongside a user's name. This is a feature that is reserved for established users on the MacRumors Forums. We require a 500 post minimum (user title 6502a or higher) before you are given the opportunity to upload your own custom avatar. A few users were given avatar privileges before this milestone because they won a forum contest.

Once you reach 500 posts you may not immediately be able to upload an avatar. The privilege is added automatically when the forum system does routine processing, so check again in a few hours. The delay is normal so please do not contact us to report it as a problem on the same day that you reach 500 posts.

Has anyone said that you need 500 posts yet? I'd hate to be redundant. I'm just anal about being redundant. Have you checked the FAQs? I bet they say you need 500 posts. You do need 500 posts, you know.

There never was a restriction, so far as I'm aware - it's just that Vegantars™ are smaller and paler than meat eating 'tars so you've probably just missed them. They do tend to fade into the grey background somewhat... 😉

It's going to look downright bizarre if the OP ever changes his sig though. Will look as if Jessica is some kind of crazed meat person, then everyone starts bashing vegans for no apparent reason. Personally I hope that happens and some confused Newbie posts on this tread in a year or two.
 
What contest are we talking about in order to get the avatar earlier? I still have around 200posts to go
