Article is incomplete. There are reddit threads that show how you can do it.

This article is probably written for European countries that are not part of the EU (European Union).

So if you are in the EU (European Union) you should look at the r/iosbeta reddit and find the solutions in there. It involves changing your Media account to the US.

I'm from The NL and it now works.

What brings me to the next question... what does this new Siri actually do? It's extremely underwhelming so far.

Isn’t that the new Siri logo?

I thought this was Apple Intelligence: https://developer.apple.com/apple-intelligence/

It also means that you cannot use Apple Music, unless you're willing to switch the entire phone to the US Apple ID (which I'm not, so far Apple Intelligence is not worth it)

Actually, you don’t have to have a US AppleID Store Account, I tried a UK AppleID Store account and it’s working just fine. The article should be amended I think.

The “Siri understand context” thing is an absolute joke at best or a lie at worst

I asked Siri where someone in my Find My is and they gave me the answer, I asked “what’s the weather like there?” And they gave me MY weather
I asked “what’s the weather like where <Person> is?” and they gave me my weather again

I’m not asking for Hal 9000 or Her, I don’t expect Siri to know my life inside out or magically know everything I want to know but how can you not even figure out such a simple request??

The context is not even somewhere in some email or text message, you literally have the person’s location in the previous response!!

Aaaargh

Went through all of the steps and it didn't work. (Germany)

It only worked after I logged in to my US account (in addition to all the steps described above).

I think Siri will be better next year when it’s fully released, so do not expect that much new wow moments right now from Siri

what happens when you log back to your original account?

Amazing! Can’t wait to jump through all the hoops so Siri could “intelligently” setup my timers!

An interesting take is that I expect a phone running all the Apple Intelligence features to have 10 to 15% worse battery life than a phone not running them (in the EU for example). That will be an interesting dilemma for those (like myself) that find all the Apple Intelligence features underwhelming and would happily swap them for 10% better battery performance

I'm not on the beta, but I am pretty sure I read that you can turn of Apple Intelligence in settings.
