    Correct.
Maybe you didn't know this, but Steam offers other games besides Counter Strike.

To run games that are capable of running in Mac OS X natively, as there are some of them out there.

ok, i just assumed that all games available on steam will run on osx natively.

    next question...

how will it run on virtualized windows? i dont use bootcamp, but rather Sun's Virtual Box

Like garbage... Boot camp is your only option.

Can't you register the game on Steam and make it part of your library?

    Use the code!

Yeah, this is what I did with Episode 1. Simply take the code from the back of the case and in 'activate a game on steam' under the games tab you type it in. Voila! HL2 on mac!
If you want to play counter strike on a mac, you're out of luck though. However, if you are referring to counter strike source, you can play it natively on a mac.

Yep, if you own CS through Steam on Windows, you own it on Mac. All you have to do is download Steam, login to your existing account and download it.

Now honestly, I'm not sure that the original CS is supported on Mac. I know CS:Source is, but I'm not sure about the original.
