How to get Mail in 10.6 to work with Yahoo email?

Since Yahoo now wants us to pay for their PLUS, is there any way around this to get yahoo mail to work for send and receive? I tried the methods that I found on here by removing the plus, but nothing worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You only get POP access to Yahoo Mail if you pay for the plus service. Yahoo blocks the port access if you don't have plus service.
