I'd consider trying this out, but with push notifications apparently causing ridiculous battery drain even on non-JB'd iPhones and iTouches, I honestly don't see the point till the next firmware update.

I can live without push; I can't live with a 4-hour battery life.

My phone became unusually warm soon as I put in an email account, then the battery started running out much faster. When I turned off all push settings, everything seemed back to normal. There's definitely something wrong with the firmware.

EDIT: Oh, and people using Tap Tap Revenge's push notifications are reporting battery drain too. So it's not just the email.

Oh, hmm.... I didn't use redsn0w. I just upgraded my unlocked iPhone via Apple. On T-Mo it doesn't work with Youtube. So if I redsn0w it, I get youtube on T-Mobile?

I confirm that this method is working!
Before I did this, I JB using PwnageTool and then Ultrasn0wed it. Installed AIM, and push notification was not working.

So I restore (the ligit way through itunes), then I inserted ATT sim (I'm an official iPhone customer) and let it activate the phone.
After the phone is activated, I redsn0wed and ultrasn0wed it.
Then, I installed AIM, and BOOM! Push is working!

PS. I'm currently visiting Thailand, and I'm using a local simcard here. So, that's the reason why I needed an unlocked iPhone :)

Oooh, I found my AT&T SIM so I need to see if the analog for this can be done with an original iPhone (I guess, activating it using Pwnage Tool and the AT&T SIM or perhaps use redsn0w? ).....
