Hi all, haven't been on this in a long time! This is actually for my husband who wants to get up at 3 in the morning (eastern) to order. I know there is a way to get everything set up ahead of time, but when does that happen? Isn't it after the announcement on September 12? Also, even though the ATT account is in my name, i think he has to go on his phone with his Apple ID. Is that correct? Thanks so much for your help!

After the event, most likely at 2-3 PM EST. the iPhone page should be open. I'm not 100% if i remember it correctly, but i do believe that you can add the iPhone to your favorite for quick checkout. Once 3 AM hits friday, you or hour husband can go to your favorites click checkout and be gone within 1-2 minutes. I would suggest using Touch ID as it would be faster.

If your husband is the type of man who has no issues giving his wife access to his phone/computer, and he is already logged into the Apple store app or on computer you should have no issues.

It all depends which way you’re preordering (App, Safari, etc) but like @hovscorpion12 said, you can favorite the iPhone you’re going for for a faster checkout.

What you do have to have handy is the account holder’s last 4 numbers of social security and 4 digit account PIN. I see a lot of people get stuck there and miss the window for a day 1 delivery.

One more question. He still owes about $58 on his 7 (there are issues with it and he really needs to get it replaced). Should he pay it off before Wednesday or Thursday so its free and clear or how to handle? Thanks so much for your help!

You should pay it off sooner than later. So I would say no later than Wednesday evening (if you're waiting to see what the Keynote entails), but now at the earliest. This ensures that everything clears out of the carrier/IUP system in terms of payments before you place your order.

You should as soon as possible to ensure the account is clear on time for the preorder.

Are you talking about a carrier’s 4 digit account pin? I’m with ATT and I don’t recall needing it for my iPhone X preorder. Maybe I totally forgot!

If you preorder through a third party site (aka apple.com), you'll need it. You may not need it if you order through att.com AND have standard security enabled instead of extra.
