I'm having problems figuring out how to set my external display as my real
primary display.
I managed to find out (by reading this forum) how to make the menu bars display on it by dragging that white bar in display options to my external,
hoping the dock would follow, but alas, it didn't...

I'm on a macbook with 10.4.11 btw..

I was wrong, I forgot we're talking about macs here that do actually work

Ignore this post :p

Yeah that's definitely not true. If you open the display preferences and uncheck mirror displays, and then drag the menu bar over to your external it should work. I do this all the time on my mb.

I too use my External as the primary display. The best part is when you disconnect it, your laptop becomes the primary again with all the windows moved to one screen. Reconnect that same external and it remembers all the previous settings...pretty cool.
