Hello I have downloaded macbuntu from this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/lubuntu-16-04-remix-updated.2204742/ and now I want to install it on my powerboook g4 and imac g5 from a bootable usb drive that i want to create from a windows 10 computer, but so far what I have tried has not worked. I got a 64gb usb key, converted the partition format to gpt, then created a bootable usb drive using the image I downloaded with power iso and selected fat32 as the file system. The usb drive is not detected in the boot menu so I'm kinda lost here, I've never installed an os on an apple device, I'm used to it being way easier. Can anyone help me out?

G4's and G5's don't boot from usb like traditional intel machines. You'll need to boot from open firmware, not the boot picker, and even then they may not boot from usb. You also need a linux machine or a mac machine to make the bootable usb installer via dd. Windows programs wont work. Best bet is use optical media.

If you dig through the first couple pages of the macbuntu thread you'll find the commands to create the usb and boot from the usb.

Cheers
