I wanna do a clean install on my MB. I have backed up the whole disk using Time Machine(except window XP partition). Then I wipe the whole disk and install SL. After that what should I do to have my old files back?? By restoring files from Time Machine, will it overwrite the new SL system??

Boot using the SL DVD and let it go through the normal installation. As part of the setup, it will let you migrate from a TM backup. This will restore all of your settings, applications, and user data.

Yes Thanks for your reminding
But I'm asking whether the Restore will overwrite Snow Leapard and go back to Leopard.

Migrate = it won't overwrite the upgrade. :)

You can run "Migration Assistant" anytime to move data over from TM after install.

You want to do this through the setup, during installation - not "restore from Time Machine". It's one of the migration options - you can select another Mac, volume, or Time Machine.
