Hey guys,

Just wondering if I am doing this correctly..

I am not great with computers but have recently purchased a MBP and installed vmware on it so I can have Windows XP as well as my Mac OS. I am trying to install my printer on the windows side with a windows cd.. Doesn't seem to work... I have installed it on the Mac side by downloading the software from the internet..

Can someone explain why this isn't working?

Thanks in advance!

Only one OS can access your CD drive at any given time. If OS X grabs it then the VM doesn't have access and vice-versa. You may have to manually tell your VM that you want the hardware CD drive connected to your VM.

In VMWare Fusion you can do this from an icon that looks like a CD in the bottom margin of the VM's screen.
