How to install Thunderbolt update when booting from thunderbolt drive?

I have had this update for thunderbolt for months, I have tried to install it a few times and it just wont work, I assume it's because I am booting off a thunderbolt drive. Is there anyway to get a windows installer for it? (I have windows 7 installed on my internal SATA drive)

I've been using a 2012 iMac since late 2012 via Thunderbolt boot OS. All has updated fine...

I was also able to update while booted from Thunderbolt drive.

No warning that it would not work. All is well.
